Summary
- Czechia had 775 annual festivals in 2024, and their main programmes drew 3.7 million visitors.
- Prague hosts the most by far: 136 festivals, or 18% of the country's total.
- Four in ten festivals are international, which usually means more visitors from abroad who need somewhere to stay.
- Prague's foreign guests stay 2.4 nights on average. A two-night minimum fits festival weekends well.
Every festival weekend, thousands of people need a bed in a town that has only so many hotels. That gap is where a private flat earns well. Below is what the official 2024 data says about where Czech festivals happen and how many people they bring.

What This Means If You Rent Out Your Home
- Plan around the big dates. In Prague, August and October bring the largest festival crowds. Put those weekends in your calendar months ahead.
- Look beyond Prague. In a city like Olomouc or Liberec a big festival can take up much of the town's hotel capacity, because there are far fewer beds.
- Set a minimum stay. Foreign guests stay 2.4 nights on average, so two nights is a sensible minimum on event weekends.
- Write for international guests. Four in ten festivals are international, so an English listing with clear directions pays off.
